Remember when we spoke with Bill Anderson on the Wild Wake Up Show? If not, listen here:

He told us he would be hosting the Grand Ole Opry July 7th, so I had to tune in. He played “City Lights” and talked about starting his career as a radio DJ, just like in the interview! What a treat.

I’d like to acknowledge WSM 650 AM in Nashville, TN, who broadcast the Grand Ole Opry on their website wsmonline.com. I’m ashamed to admit it was my first time listening to the show, but I’m glad I finally did! A quick Google search will tell you that it’s been over 90 years since the first Grand Ole Opry radio broadcast, and it’s still the home for the marriage between radio and country music.

Today’s video pick is Chris Stapleton and his wife Morgane singing “Amanda,” made popular by Waylon Jennings. While the song’s lyrics aren’t words you’d hear in wedding vows, the image of Chris and Morgane Stapleton singing to one another with a bassist inbetween looks a lot like they’re standing at the altar with a minister.

If you simply can’t get enough of Chris and Morgane, here is my favorite interview of the two:

The couple has been married about ten years, and it’s clear from this interview how they are such strong personalities individually, much like Trisha and Garth, but together become more than either could be alone.
